OUR VISION AND MISSION

I have totally dedicated myself to the work of the missions, to the sublime ministry of Jesus Christ who is the first missionary and the leader in every mission. - Fr. Peter Marie Mermier

Our Founder, Father Peter Mermier wants us to become more like Christ after the example of St. Francis de Sales, our Patron. His patient charity, alertness and total surrender to and identification with the will of God, intense love of God and humans, apostolic zeal, profound humility and simplicity, joyful holiness, confident optimism, firm gentleness, welcoming attitude and hospitality, and his open-mindedness and fellow-feeling challenge us to follow his example.
To be closer to the Crucified Christ, through a life of complete surrender and total dedication to the Father's will and to be more ready to suffer the consequences of standing for the values of the Kingdom of love, justice, peace and reconciliation, our Founder presents to us Mary, the Mother of Sorrows as the Patroness of our Congregation. Through her closeness to Christ and by her perfect discipleship she becomes the model for our closeness to Christ and our discipleship. The Mother of Sorrows reminds us to be constantly compassionate so that our commitment to Christ, to His Church and to the values of His Kingdom finds expression in our daring apostolic commitment even at the cost of our own lives. As missionaries our compassion becomes meaningful whenever we identify ourselves with suffering humanity as we realize that God suffers when humans and the world suffer. This active compassion impels us to proclaim the Good News of liberation and wholeness at all times and in all places.

Our apostolic activity flows from our religious vocation and from the Charism of our Congregation. Our entire religious life is to be permeated with an apostolic spirit, and all our apostolic activity is to be infused with a religious spirit. Fidelity to our religious commitment enables us to be totally available for the mission of the Lord. Through all our apostolic activities, we participate in the mission of the Church. From the beginning the Mission of our Congregation has found its concrete expression in:
i. Apostolate for the renewal of Christian life
ii. Apostolate overseas and pioneering evangelization
iii. Apostolate of education and formation especially of the young.
Faithful to the spirit of our Founder we commit ourselves to the renewal of Christian life. Such a commitment demands that our life inspires and our proclamation challenges and our self-emptying love transforms people to respond to God's unconditional love. Through proclamation of the Word and the celebration of the Sacraments we build Christian community.
By our commitment to apostolate beyond the boundaries of our own countries and cultures, we take seriously the mission mandate of Jesus as understood by the early Church. By our openness and commitment to the mission entrusted to us we remain always available to the mission anywhere in the world as and when required by the Church or discerned by the Congregation.
In our apostolate of education and ministry to the young we share the ministry of the Church to proclaim the Good News of liberation from ignorance and orient those under our care to seek truth about themselves, God and the world. While striving for excellence in all aspects of education, we are committed to form integrated persons who are conscious of their responsibility to build a just society and a humane world.
